Ryan

Our Ryan family can be traced back to Joe’s great-great-grandfather Loughlin Ryan, born in 1824, who was headmaster of Garryhill National School in Co. Carlow. He was the husband of Bridget Nolan, with whom he had at least one child that we know of, Malachy. Malachy and his wife, Mary (née Murphy), lived in Garryhill where they raised six children.
